Drove down to Kent to collect it, 400 mile drive home wasnt as bad as expected....only problem having to keep it under 4500 rpm

Its booked in for it 1000 mile post run in service on friday, so ive got a few more miles to get through before then....just getting used to its potential at the moment and trying to get my head round how much attention it gets.

First Mod, sports exhaust getting fitted in a week or two.....

Heres a few pics for anyone interested...

Can't imagine why people stare !

Top car, enjoy, but be careful out there - damp, leaf strewn corners do not a happy Lotus owner make (at least you've got TC...smile)

Nice car, hope your happy with it.

Very direct questions -
What made you buy down South
Will you have it serviced at the supplying dealer or will you expect a local dealer to pick up any agro??

Two odd questions, but I always wonder why people buy miles away from home when the doorstep is well served??

Basically I ended up hiring an Exige S from a dealer in Sussex for 2 days, firstly because I had a few days free and the missus fancied a trip down there but mainly because I wanted a better idea of what it was like to do a good few miles in one. We went camping, I drove in city centres and a good good hoon around the countryside...

I mentioned to the dealer that I was looking for one, they offered to refund the hire charge if I bought from them. They sourced the car which was in stock at another dealer, but obviously this car was available to any dealer in the Lotus network...

plus for whatever reason local dealers werent able to match the finance figures...but it was the refunded hire charge that sealed it.

I will not be servicing the car at the supplying dealer, its 380 miles south....and yes I expect a local dealer to pick up any 'agro' as you put it. Ive payed for a new car which has a Lotus warranty so why shouldnt I go to any Lotus dealer???

Camping with an Exige!!!!

Thanks for the honest response. You are correct on the freedom to go anywhere for waranty work and hopefully you'll have little or no need of that facility. I'm just not sure I would have the front to do what you've done - smart move by the supplying dealer though!
