Quick question;

Are the "enforcement cameras" in the Tyne Tunnel actual Scameras or just speed limit warning things?

No reason why, just wondered wink

there are so many rumours of people doing silly speeds in there lol but im sure that they could easil estimate your speed if they wanted to using the cameras and then stop you at the end. also with it being the second most dangerous tunnel in europe with only one way in and one way out its not the brightest of places to put your foot down in.
there are some underpasses and tunnels in the city center that we normally use

Never been caught but rarely go above the 30 limit, hard to stick to on the steeper part of the hill inside it.

Have heard of people being done who have driven dangerously inside it, easy for them to work out average speed using the CCTV from when you go in to out if you drive bad inside.

early on a very quiet weekend morning, the original toon hoon took in a quick trip through the tunnel north to south, 180 round the roundabout at the end to go straight back through. speeds were kept sensible, although as it was so quiet there was opportunity to almost come to a standstill and accelerate safely in a low gear to appreciate the engine noises....

... the nice mr (tunnel) plod at the south side didn't seem to mind and even let us pull into the lorry-lay-by to re-group and wait for the car that had been filming us coming out before going back through.
