I have been given the uneviable task of organising the yr 11 leavers prom for June 2008 tongue outarty. All kids will be dressed up to the nines in stupidly expensive dresses and hired suits so will be on their best behaviour.
Last year they went to Walworth castle and the year before that it was Hardwick Hall So basically my year groups needs to be even better. So basically I need some ideas for places to hold it. The list of possible venues so far is:

Blackwell Grange (Darlington)
Judges (Yarm)
Crathorne Hall (Kirklevington)
Lumley castle (Chester -le-Street)
Beamish Hall (Durham) - has anyone been here since it reopened as a hotel?
Rushpool Hall (Redcar)

If anyone can add some places that you know of within about 45mins of Stockton or if you have been to any of the above venues and can impart knowledge let me know. idea
All help will be greatfully recieved.

Blackwell Grange (Darlington) don't know
Judges (Yarm) bl00dy expensive
Crathorne Hall (Kirklevington) beautiful location, good choice
Lumley castle (Chester -le-Street) don't know
Beamish Hall (Durham) don't know
Rushpool Hall (Redcar) run by real slave drivers, staff hate working there

Guisborough Hall is a good location for this type of event too

Lumley Castle is great, but I couldn't see it being the kind of place to have that type of event.
Beamish hotel is nice enough.

Ramside hall hotel? or slaley hall if there's pleanty of budget?

The front runners so far are...

1.Pinchinthorpe: Hall £22.50 per head for 3 course meal, disco and drink on arrival
2.Beamish Hall: £22.50 per head for hot/cold buffet, disco and drink on arrival, extra £10 for 3 course meal
3.Lumley Castle: as above (requires at last 60 kids)
4.Gisborough Hall: £22 for 3 couse meal plus £195 for disco and on a different date to what we want.

Still waiting on Judges and Rushpool hall to get back to me with figures.

Don't think these prices are too bad. Anyone had experience of Pinchinthorpe, as that seems the most reasonable at the momnt?
