The first presentation of our new session introduces the Tesla Roadster - the world's first production, high performance electric sports car.

'Driven by Innovation ( and a battery )'
[ the development of the all electric, Tesla Sports Roadster ]

by Andrew Cunnane, Tesla Motors Ltd.

Tuesday 9th October, 7.30pm at Durham University, School of Engineering, Room E240
( Enter Engineering building via the door from the main site car park )

Synopsis:
Small, slow and ugly are common words used to describe electric vehicles. Why should anyone want to embrace this technology? But what if it was packaged with stunning looks and could compete with the world's best sports cars? A look into the technology of the Tesla roadster shows how this is not a far-fetched idea and the roadster is on track to be the world's first electric production sports car. The talk will summarise the arguments for electric cars and delves into the underlying technology to show why the car has attracted so much world-wide attention.

marshalla, how did this go (would have gone if I'd been in the area). Was there much interest?
