did anyone make the final of vx
Discussion
I did
My qualifying session was at 16:15 - Did a 52.209 - put me on P4 for the GP, but then got bumped down a place by a lad in the qualifying session after mine. 3rd row of the grid for the final - made a good start and gained 2 places on the first lap - the 2 lads in front were very quick and i struggled to keep up until one of them went off on the 2nd lap. (Was thinking at that point.. one nudge and i could get passed and into 1st! Rush of blood to the head, then i ran wide on the next corner! A lap later i got shunted off from the rear - onto the grass/concrete and lost 5/6 places... Gutted to say the least.
Doubt i could have caught the front runner anyway - he stormed away. He's a Kart-racer (as were the lads who ended up 2nd and 3rd apparently) who competes in comps every week, so to be less than half a second behind them, having never driven there before and only Karted at a couple of stag do's in the past - I was very pleased. Will be entering next year, and going to practice before hand.
Great day.
Racing career will have to wait til next year then...
PS - saw a silver VX in the carpark, follwed me (Grey/Striped S2 Elise) out at the end of the day... anyone on here? Did you notice the way i went faaaar too quickly into that first roundabout after we left?! Bit of a difference between the Karts sticky tyres and the Elises bridgestones!)
