I was just on my way back from Stokelsy and a big truck drove past and a big stone has made a nice sized deep circular crack in the windscreen! What is the procedure to getting it replaced?
Thanks

Which insurance company are you with?

Call your insurance company, depends who you are with but normally its about £100 excess and you can get it done at Autoglass, just need to take your insurance certificate with you and they do the rest.

not sure, but you could ask them if formula 1 to do it, but they will probably just send it the autoglass anyhow

Ok i just rang Admiral who gave me RAC Autoglass's number, so someone from their Middlesbrough branch is ringing sometime to arrange a time and date. She said it will take 3-4 hours, all i have to pay is the £70 excess and then the insurance will cover the rest. "Is it known as anything else other than a Lotus Exige? as its not coming up on the system." rolleyes

Thanks, thats strange, i rang Lotus to get the part number which was: A117B0094F
I also asked him if it was the same screen as the Elise and he said it was.
Rang RAC to tell them all this and he took the part number and said he will give me a call back when they get one in. He also read something out about the Elise and said that it has to be done at their bodyshop so im thinking the 3-4 hours will now be a few more! mad
Really annoying thing to happen as there was nothing i could have done to see it coming!
Thanks again for your help!

Bob no problem happy to try and help

they might need to do it in the workshop because the windscreen goes under the front clam if I remember correctly, so might need front off to seal the windscreen
