Witnesses reported that a young left handed man used what looked like a games machine hand gun to hold up the bank. The bank teller said the smart young man specifically asked for 30 grand, he said that's all Formula One needed. Local shop assistant, Ben Dover chased the getaway car, a black Ford Puma but lost sight of it at speed. Ben reported that trying to keep up was like driving around the Nurburgring on PGR3.

Police are following up the Formula 1 lead and have questioned several F1 team bosses to see if they can establish a link between this and the recent theft of secret documents at Ferrari.
