Just wondering if anyone had any feedback on them? Its my 18th this summer, and I'm looking at the Mini/Caterham one or the Formula Renault single seater. Really want to do the all Caterham one but you have to be over 21

Anyone done them? I've heard of some people doing experience days down south and being limited to 4th and 5th etc and that it generally wasn't really worth the money

Our youngest son did a track day at Croft for his 18th, it was in a Ginetta. He certainly enjoy himself and gained some valuable experience.

done the caterham one last year,it was over quite quick, but really enjoyed it.i was a bit steady on the first 5 laps but caned it on the last 5 the instructors encourage you to go faster rather than slow you down. its worth the money i thought, you could spend that on a couple of nights in the big market hurl

Looking at the Caterham/Mini one, you get 6 laps of the main track in a Cooper S then a 15 mins 'Caterham auto-test'. Erm...whats an auto-test? confused

An autotest is where they set up cones and you have to weave in and out of them, I think

Thats what I was hoping thumbup Only problem is I'll probably end up wanting a Caterham even more if I do one of these experience days scratchchin Would be useful for quickly learning how to control a car though

ETA: Stardust, they don't do the Ginetta only experiences now, its a Ginetta and an old 911 (judging by the pic)

the autotest is driving round sets of layed out cones and bays
some autotest cars are setup with only one forward gear and reverse thats all you need
very skillfull precision driving.
if you dont fancy that try the ginetta track day or is that 21 also.
either way youll have a good day driving
