Darlinton & District Motor Club (DDMC) are the local people. Speak to Tony at HHC or John Simpson (PH = Daftlad). Both do track & hill climb.

Do you have a licence?

You've already got one!

Harewood, 6-8 events per year.
Sprint at Croft, Cadwell.
Track days at Croft and Cadwell.

Lots to do, free time I find is the use constraint.

If you can get anything please send it to my email address. Cheers Andy

As I understand it, if you do Club events there is an exception allowing you to take part in competitive events without a Competition Licence. The simplest route I am aware of to get a Competition Licence is to do it through your local motor club. D&DMC www.darlington-motor-club.org.uk helps local people get their licence. Race Circuits often do training too, it may be worth contacting Croft Circuit.

If you go on the MSA website you will find the application form for a racing license...its literally, fill in a few details, send a cheque, receive license

Some terms and conditions apply though

...and successfully complete an ARDS (Association of Racing Drivers Schools) training event. This will get you a Novice Licence only.

Just need an MSA 'non race b licence' for sprints and hillclimbs.

Yesterday I finally got my new toy. And what a toy.

It looks nothing from the outside, a 1993 polo coupe, lovely body work set of alloys and sitting a bit lower than stock.

Now the good bit .... mid mounted 1.8 cupra r motor modified to 350 ish bhp using ball bearing turbo with external wastegate and screamer pipe bigger injectors etc also runs a charge cooler aquamist and 100 shot of nitrous, and all in a car that weighs about 850 kg

Timed figures of 0-60 in 3.4 1/4 mile in low 12s.

Will post pictures when I get the chance.

They are not as bad as you think, sitting on a cushion helps a little.

From the outside. If you drove past it you would never know.
