Can't search so if this has been posted - sorry

Heading towards Newcastle on the coast road as you enter the 50 limit there are two new cameras one for each lane - on the opposite side there are 3 cameras one on each lane and one for the slip that joins heading for the coast.

Anyone got any idea what these are? they look suspicously like specs but I haven't seen an end set if they are the start set for the measurement. Poles look different too (no logo)

These may have been there a couple of weeks but don't go that way much so ony spotted them early last week.

Those cameras on the Coast Road , before the Corner House have been there for a couple of years. They don't look like regular speed cameras but, I think they could be just that.

Most the towns in the North East have these now, check everything from tax, insurance, whether the cars stolen, the owner is wanted by the police, know drug dealer or arms offences etc etc.

Basically being watched all the time, they dont bother me as dont have anything to hide but if you do and go past one and a police car is near by chances are it will be looking for you.

The yellow ones that face you are truvelo speed cameras triggered by the loop in the road (no radar) so it gets a shot of your face- They use infra red flash so as not to blind you. The one at the corner house on the pole is just cctv. The ones I'm on about have recent;y appeared at the start and end of the 50 limit (newcatle bound, coast bound). As no other sets have arrived yet they are probably ANPR cameras as stated above.

The cameras I think that are being referred to are at the end of the slip road heading coast bound immediately before the railway bridge and wills factory. I too have passed them at a fail lick and not been done so I am also thinking permanent ANPR cameras.
