It's still under debate. Yes we have the all clear but there are a few things to sort out yet. I will be working with the NETVRCC RO to plan what options we have and what catchment the proposed region should encompass

Suggestion: why not make an afternoon of it by getting the TVR's to gather at The Bunch of Grapes early afternoon (1:30 ish), and then go for a ride out to somewhere of interest over the moors. I believe more people would turn out, and this would give more of an interest to the up and coming Teeside TVR club.
My dad owns a TVR Tuscan but a turn out at 7:30pm dosen't appeal to him.

Thanks for the suggestion. I already run many daytime road runs, your dad is welcome to attend those if he likes.

confused I'm confused having read your profile. Sometimes you are you, other times you appear to be your dad. Are you sharing a login name?

Whatever his age, he makes a valid point. If I had a choice between going for a drive across the moors on a sunny Sunday afternoon with some like-minded petrol heads or hanging about round a pub on a Sunday night, I know which I would choose.

True and I agree. As I said above, I organise both so everyone's needs are catered for. If we only did afternoon road runs those people who want to sit and chat over a beer wouldn't be catered for. Don't forget this is a new region just trying to find its feet.

Those who know me will be aware that I organise a variety of events each year, pub meets, road runs and camping events that enable local people to experience good roads beyond our borders. I'd hope that new region members will take the opportunity to join in.

D'ont think anyone is asking for a organised road run. But an afternoon/lunch time meet would enable those who wish to - to have a blast across the moors in the afternoon sunshine. After all good roads and a bit of sunshine is what its all about - is't it!!! The moor road to Whitby is my cerberas natural territory.

Yes it is a shared profile between me, my dad and my grandad. No i am not 10, i'm 16 1/2.
I don't get personal about ages cos i don't need to you old man lol.
It was only a suggestion cos i thought car clubs are all about driving and looking at cars along decent roads not sitting at 7:30 in a pub drinking piss water (orange juice).

Whose got any ideas where we can go to with all the TVR's on sunday afternoons???

I was so glad when somone suggested a Teesside club, not that i have anything against the other clubs [mainly because i am on 2/10 shift and cant get to shaftos] but my hart sank when I read the times of the meetings. I would be much more inclined to come for a run out on a Sunday afternoon than an evening. I will be able to leave the wife in the pub chating and i will be able to take my car over 40 mph for the first time that providing you go quicker than that and you get a better look at other cars.

Your posts above indicate that your dad doesn't want to come to an evening event and doesn't want to come on any of our daytime road runs either. I'm confused!!

I assume your dad is a TVRCC member. If so he, along with 100+ other local TVRCC members will have received a letter about this event. Dates & times are stated in this letter so I couldn't change things now even if I wanted to.

The idea of running an afternoon meeting has been considered already. The current venue can't cope with a lunchtime influx of people. It's a very popular Sunday Lunch venue and they simply couldn't fit us in. The choice of venue is not simple either; there are very few places that can cater for our unique needs. Many places were considered and rejected before settling on The Grapes.

I'm sure you appreciate that it's impossible to satisfy everyone. Sunday afternoon drives occur from time to time and I'd encourage everyone to join in, there's plenty of fun to be had.

I guess when things settle down I may be able to alter or possibly even alternate to suit people's needs. At the moment it isn't clear what the future holds, there is an unusually high volume of TVR's in Teesside and so with member support there is every chance this will work.

Thanks TVRBOB, my dad does intend going to the TVR meets and he hopes to see you in the future! But as you can see from this topic there is alot of interest in the ride outs.

I agree , a day time meet is alot more social. Surely the idea is to meet up - stand around the cars and have a good old crack about TVRs. That can hardly be done all year round in the middle of the Yorkshire Moors on a night time!.
Did someone say Teeside TVR meet!
The Grapes is quite a trek for people from the north or west of the Tees region, especially travelling home late on a sunday night and thats without thinking about bad weather or worse - WINTER.
I presume you want it to be an all year round thing.tumbleweed

(I will post similar thread on the TVRCC forum.)

Event info

I have taken the idea of making this a lunch time event into consideration. We can't do it this time around but I will try to work something out for next time.

It is my hope that we will be able to find a way to satisfy more of the local members but not this time, things are already in place and I can't alter that.

If you have any suggestions please email me. The biggest issue to address is to find a venue that will cater for us on a Sunday lunchtime and one that meets our needs.

Please try to work with me on this. I am listening and trying to make this work for everyone.
