Hi all,
As you may have guessed i'm looking for the best insurance approved bodyshop i can find in the north east. Unfortunately my idiot brother in law who wrote off my bmw has struck again and damaged the skyline with his car.
I'm going through his insurance obviously, and my insurance are sorting the claim out.
So now i'm looking for the best bodyshop i can find in the north east that are insurance approved and can be trusted to do a full respray and either some repairs or fitting of new parts.
I'm based in durham, but so long as it's within a reasonable distance i don't mind where the car goes to as long as they're great.

A bit of searching revealed premier vehicle care in newcastle www.premier-vehicle-care.co.uk/exec/sam/view/id=232/node=234/

anyone know if they're any good, as i don't want some pikey company doing the work on her

Cheers in advance,
Stu

Heaton Coachworks are superb, but bloody expensive. But as your going through the insurance, give them a call. The quality is excellent, as you would expect at there prices.

My old Audi was repaired by Anderson and Young (www.andersonyoung.co.uk/success/index.html) in Langley Park. Nothing more than expected, but a perfectly acceptable job, and local too.

Premier vehicle care are right next door to Heaton Coachworks - both at the end of my street... judging the by the cars they have parked around for repairs, i would go with Heaton Coachworks, the cars they have in there are often 'prestige' or sports cars.

As far as being 'insurance approved' - AFAIK, you are entitled to take your car to any bodyshop you like.

Take where the best job will be done; nothing to do with price!

As mentioned anderson and young are no longer in business Rang them earlier, got the BT message saying phone number had changed, rang the new number and a guy answered and said sorry, used to be anderson and young but not anymore, and one of the guys has started a new bodyshop up in stanley.

Rang a couple more this afternoon but had no joy, so it's looking increasingly like Heaton place is getting my business. Amazing how uninterested a lot of places seem, considering the potential revenue they could get out of the work I want doing as well as the insurance claim I guess they all prefer touch up jobs instead of resprays, less work, quick turnaround etc.
Found a number for this C&C coachworks, shall give them a bell tomorrow and see what they say.

Cheers again
Stu

cheers guys. Been doing some ringing around today. Doesn't help that my car is immobile waiting for it's new engine, but mentioning it soon seperates the helpful from the uninterested

Heaton Coachworks - seemed very freindly, one of the few who'd entertain giving me even a ball park quote for the insurance as well as taking on a full respray and not moaning about it hehe Seemed a nice chap, very helpful.

Anderson and young - no longer in business

Mainline - woman was quite helpful after a bit of persuasion, they seem very very busy and the woman mentioned they're 2 men down there at the minute.

C&C i'm having trouble finding a number for them ray_von, don't suppose you've got a number have you mate?

still hunting through some others, I shall report back if i find anymore particularly helpful ones. Suggestions still welcome, more the merrier!
