Well been browsing for long enough I might as well join and post.

Im Chris, 22 from Cleveland.

Currently driving a virtually standard VW Golf MKIV TDI150 with a few engine and Chassis modifications.

My other car being a 1972 Mk3 Ford Cortina i'm currently restoring, from a bareshell, well its actually the second one i've restored, but thats another story.

Thing that jogged my memory of this site is spotting a black BMW Mini in New Marske(Dont usually pay much attention to them but the other half just bought one and im starting to take more notice now for some reason, you know how it is) I think its possibly tvrbob's wife? I recognised the woman getting into it from a company I used to work for im sure, and the photo of a TVR on her desk there kind of leads me to the same conclusion.

Anyhow, just like to say what a nice, informative site this is

Chris

Hi Chris, Yes that's my wife's car; I shall point her to this when she gets home. The company you speak of has banned PH from their server so she won't have seen it yet.

Hi Chris,

yes that's my car you've spotted. Just picked it up at the begining of the year. I drove the red 'One' prior to that and yes my desk is covered in TVR & PH 'stuff'

Hope to see you at some events

Hello again,

I wasn't aware I had to own a TVR to use the forums? Nice cars but my games going as fast as possible in a straight line (Cortina is to be powered by a 5.0 Ford Smallblock motor this year)

Cant believe they banned pistonheads, I didn't think anyone was intelligent enough at circuits to figure that one out, when I was network administrator there I didn't bother to enable the content filter for the very reason it just annoys people, Andy couldn't care less, I should have had a monthly bonus varying on the amount of his Cr..I had to put up with.

I hope you are also strengthening the drive train mounts and uprating the front brakes. That's a huge jump in HP

Caught with hand in biscuit tin, agreed. The Griff is a fantastic car, no doubt and IMHO the best tvr made.

coolFor a thrash and oodles of fun, would I have the Griff over my liz, no. As a second every day car, Yes.

If someone could convince mrs zebs to let me have a griff as well.......

And after that if any lotus mates wish to put me up against a wall and stone me then fair do's.

As for strength etc, the whole chassis has been strengthend, the front subframe is a custom affair to accomodate the larger engine and power, Front brakes are from an Escort Cosworth, to be honest im sure most american muscle cars brakes are on par with the standard Cortina ones, haha. Im not one to leave things to chance, espeically where my own safety is concered so all is well....

As for the TVR/Lotus thing, if it were one over the other it would be a TVR anyday of the week, I dont mind the Lotus' im working on a friends M100SE Elan for him tomorrow. its a nice car but the engines all wrong, a distinct lack of cylinders. An Esprit maybe, but they are not as aesthetically pleasing as most TVR's

Still got a little bit of concussion from when mrs bomb slammed me into the tarmac, hoping to get some therapy on the insurance.
