I have had ideas along this line for a while. We are awkwardly positioned between two regions, NETVRCC and NYTVRCC both of which are a little too far away for monthly social meets. I have avoided it in the past because I don't see enough membership potential in the area.

I am on the TVRCC National Event Team and run the national Chimaera meeting so I may be able to help get this set up.

I'm happy to meet up to discuss and I'll be able to tell you what it all entails.

Do we want a rural or town location for a meeting place ?
Think we need to look at pubs with large car parks, good food & decent beer, the latter being not that important to the drivers.

I tried for years to find this combination for the NEPH monthly meetings. In the end I found that it is impossible to get good food & decent beer with a good carpark. If a pub has good food & decent beer the carpark is always full and so not very appropriate for our cars. The best type of place to look for is the quiet country pub, the sort of place you have to drive to. That way you don't get the town chavs walking past and seeing the cars.

We could try Dalton Lodge on the A19. Big car park out the back and plenty of space inside. Failing that there's the pub on the Tees Barrage. Neither are country pubs but they are conveniently located.

Ah now I thought this was the Teesside group. The Lion Inn is in Yorkshire. No problem though.

Turners mill Redcar ,car parks fairly empty since Bells burnt down, may attract the chavs though.

Rushpool Hall could be ok decent size car park ,away from the masses.

Yeah you are correct Bob -but wold this trad on the toes of the already established North Yorkshire chapter.

What about Swainby there a couple of good pubs there with decent size car parks, far enough away from the Chavs & just off the beaten track for the A171 / A19.

No they won't mind. NYTVRCC meet west of York to capture the Leeds area so the Lion plenty far away.

Definitely chav territory and they like to torch nice things around there.
