Basically I live with the parents still (I know I know but its cheap! will move out one day) and I am looking to get a toy later on this year, however have stumbled upon a problem. Ive always had the choice of two garages, one at mams house and one at dads, mams just decided to sell the house and move to a flat and it looks like dad may do something similar later in the year, hence no garage.

When the day comes to get the toy will need a garage to house it and somewhere to store all the cleaning stuff that goes with the car.

Knowing very little about properties is it possible to buy/rent a secure garage in the North East and if so anyone got any contacts or websites I can have a look through to get an idea of cost?

Try the council ones,
Im currently renting a garage off the council in my area, luckily i can see the garage from my house. Its only £5.00 a week rent aswell and its got bags of space, its even bigger than the garage on my mam and dads house! Its pretty secure although i have bought an alarm for it for extra piece of mind.

£5 a week! cant complain at that, cant say ive seen any garages that the council would own in this town, used to have a big complex of them but they got flattened and built on years ago.

All depends on where you are based, like your doing, i made sure i had somewhere to keep my pride and joy before i went and parted with the cash!

I could not find one to rent where I live, in Boldon.

So I park on the street, and have not had a single problem.

I thought I might have had issues with the Skyline but it was fine and my M3 was fine too.

The Mini had it's valves nicked, but we think that happened at Mrs GMan's works car park.

My new car when I get it will be parked there too, my view is if anything happens it insured.

Ours is £40/pa!! though we only officially rent the plot, but they all come with a garage on it - just means we have the freedom to do what we want to the garage in the way of modifications and adding security.

The problem is, they tend to be like hens teeth to get hold of, we were lucky the previous owners of our house were renting one, so when we bought the house, they transfered the lease.
