I've been trying to buy some shure earphones for ages and finally found some e5c's on eBay that have slipped under the stupid bidding radar. I know it's a lot of money to spend on headphones, but this is my keepy back money and I'll spend it on what I want, but unfortunately, in the final minute of the auction, my wife caught me and I quickly had to shoo her out of the room.

Now if she found out I had keepy back money or the fact I've spent it on £200 earphones, she would flip out, so I quickly yelled it's a surprise for you, go away!

So she now thinks I've bought her a Birhday present off eBay, cheapish, but unique. Fortunately, her Birthday isn't till August, so I've got plenty of time to find something, but it's added the pressure as I have to find something unique enough that I had to buy it now.

Please help me! I need to find something cheap and unique by August.

Get yourself a pair of trousers and stop being the victim. You my son are in charge, not mrs byff.

Oh yes, and we all know who wears the trousers in Bob's house!!

Just say you lost out on the auction at the last minute coz you were interrupted. Problem solved, time between now & August to find the right present. For example, private number plate (Bob’s Christmas present to me this year which was very well appreciated!)

Give her the ones you've just bought and buy yourself some better ones.

Just claim the seller flaked and never made contact, so you didn't complete the sale. Ebay's a minefield innit? You've got 8 months to dream up what it was you never bought...

What she said.

But you don't have to go for number plates (could be faaaaaaar in excess of 200 notes)

Have you seen those 'Hot' diamonds? A fiver will get you a nice set of diamonte style earrings. She'll never know the difference and you can spend the other 195 quid on somthing nice for yourself.

Jobs a good 'un everyones a winner. thumbup

Buy her a canoe. Its useful. You can carry lots of 'stuff'in one. And its a hobby all the family can enjoy.

Sorted.

You know it makes sense.......

( bit of a bugger to wrap though.)

I think I might have it cracked.

She has mentioned that she fancies taking up digital photography, so I'm now on the lookout for a cheap Canon or Nikon camera. I've got 6 months to find an eBay deal where the rest of the UK has missed a listing and I can get one under £100

The Nikon Coolpix are relativilty cheap and easy to get hold of.

Hows the E5cs by the way? I have the E3cs and really like them, although I have had three replacement pairs under warranty.

The e5c's are a fantastic bit of kit. The bass makes your head vibrate if you turn them up loud, but at normal loudness levels, everything is just crystal clear. It's like listening to a £1000 pair of speakers but in your head.

I don't really want a coolpix style camera for her, I think she'll be wanting something that has full control over the settings like a 80D or a Canon EOS350D or what ever numbers they've gone upto now.

I'm hoping to pick one up that's a bit older, the type of kit that someones off loading to upgrade to the latest.
