I have got a decibel meter and will be bringing it to the TVRCC meet this sunday!!!
We can see what the difference is between a straight thru exhaust and the offords conversion!!!

ToonTVR...the gauntlet is down!!!!

Hello Craig

Hows the chim going???

I have the precats removed and straight thru exhaust but keeping the main cat in (which will be comming out soon!!).
I think it wil be a good test.

If we can get a standard chim, ToonTVR's offords exhaust and my straight thru together and do the sound tes and then spend a couple of housr on a rolling road and swap the exhausts between the three cars it could be quite intersting to see which one produces the best BHP increase???

Bit sad i know but we could settle a long standing argument within pistonheads!!!

Andy,

Chim's goin fantastic, its goin in on monday to get some minor paintwork done. but other than that its been awesome.

Sounds like a good idea i wouldn't mind taking mine on a rolling road to see what its pushing out bhp wise either.

You managed to get a unit/lock up sorted yet?

Craig

Glad the chim is going good...must admit it is one of the best things i have ever owned and i never get bored of driving it...even though i use it every day!!!

i am waiting to go and see a unit at pelaw (cheers stacey-b) so hopefully that will work out...i have got a business loan sorted out so things are looking promising!!!
I have got loads of gear set up to put in the workshop...just a case of getting the final details sorted out!!!

Well when you get it set up give me a shout if you need a hand, i could do with getting mine up on a ramp and cleaning the chassis and waxoling it, its been done already but i just want piece of mind that ive done it and i know where ive put it.

Did John say he was goin to the meeting this weekend? Im interested to hear the cherry bomb conversion.

I was reading your thread in the chim forum, what you planning to do to you chim?

John is normally there at every meet!!!

I am going to do a complete body off strip down.
My drivers side outrigger has rusted through and need replacing.
The idea is to remob=ve the body, make a jig of the chassis and then i am going to make a stainless steel one...or two or maybe half a dozen!!!
While the body is off i am going to retrim the interior including carpets, seats and dash...and rework a couple of other things...the best one being the active exhaust...nearly got the prototype finished, just a couple of things holding me up but it is very nearly there...i have also got my eye on a chevrolet 5.7 litre V8 which might be going in...not sure yet but we shall see...!

Cheers for the offer of a hand.
To be honest at weekends it is literally going to be run as a club garage rather than a 'pay extortionate amounts of money to have work done on you car' type garage.
During the week i shall be making parts for cars but it will have the added benefit of the spray booth and fabrication shop...hopefully it will be quite good!

had some good results...have a look on chim page.

Think we need to take things further and book a rolling road for a couple of hours and swap the exhaust between the three cars.
Now that could be interesting.
