A few have expressed a wish to go Karting in December.

Are there any preferred Dates ?

Is Warden Law OK?

How many would like to attend ?

I am happy to put up some product prizes.

Who else would like to make teams for Endurance race at F1 Newcastle in January?

I'd love to do some outdoor karting. We don't need our own equipment, I take it? Anytime suits really.

Hi,

Count me in for the karting.

Recently me and Andychim400 went down to Teesside Karting for an Iron Man race.

It was much better than Warden Law - the karts were much better than WL - twin engined prokarts, almost brand new, well maintained.

Track is at least as good as Warden Law.

And the Iron Man event is good value - it is 20 minute qualifying and 40 minute race - so 1 hour in karts.

Website is :-

www.teessidekarting.co.uk

I would recommend Teesside over Warden Law or the Indoor track at Newcastle

You betcha for both dates.

It's easier to list the dates I can't do, so for December,

7,8,9,13,14,21st onwards - everything else, I should be ok.

As for Janurary, I'll be away at the start, but from the 10th, I can't do

13,14,15,19,25,26,29,30,31

Does that make sense?

You do not need your own equipment although you can take your own gear if you want. I recommend taking your own Helmet (if you have one) because the supplied ones at track are a bit sweaty !!!

Count me in, we might not get a response from Gez as the last time I spoke to him he was sat in tesco for 8 hours queuing for a Nintendo Wii !!

How about we have an inter PH region karting endurance race ?

Maybe North East against Yorkshire so that not too far to travel for anyone. Most of the regions seem to have karting trips so hopefully there will be enough interest.

Have a number of teams from each region, i.e. Team NE1, Team NE2, etc against Team YK1, Team YK2, etc. and have some sort of scoring system to work out the winners.

Any thoughts or comments ?

I think Teeside would be a good idea, it's longer and faster than Warden, and would make a change from the last blast we had at Warden.

I think the idea of an endurance challenge would also be great idea, NE against NY. Maybe early in the New year ?

For Teeside, let's have a show of interest, I will then try to get a deal together with Teeside Karting subject to numbers and dates.

So Far:

3rtt plus 2 or 3 (one is my 19 year old son)
castex
Toon jeff
byff (subject to date).
gez (if we can get him off his new toy)

Cheers,
Ian.

Hi,

I'll be up for it if it's Teeside.

Not a fan of those gas powered karts @ WL to be honest, and I don't think they keep on top of the maintenance aswell as Teeside.....even with their 'new' karts there's still a fairly good chance of getting a dog which just spoils your day.

Cheers & Merry Xmas to all

Oh I dunno, last time I was at T'side my kart was pretty slow... felt like it was only pulling on one... yeah, that'll be it: that'd explain why everyone kept passing me... [/bullshit]

Count me in if you need an extra driver. I only need a few months notice to go on a diet to improve my power to weight ratio !!

OK, I will ring Teeside karting to see what price they can do for us, and what dates / times they have through December.

Cheers,
Ian.

By the way, I forget to say that Teesside now offer the karting events the use of the extra loop that was added for cars so that it is now a 2.1 kilometre kart track!!!

I think it costs an extra tenner per driver to use the full track.

I have never tried the full track but it looks awesome - I would be willing to pay the extra - not sure if everyone else would agree.

Might be worth asking for the cost for the standard track and the full track so that everyone can decide.

Just spoken with Teeside Karting and they have the full circuit available:

Sunday 17th December: 10.30 am
1.30 pm I suggest this slot ?
3.00 pm

The full circuit is not floodlight so it's not possible to do an evening session on the full circuit.

For the Ironman session (20 minute practice and 40 min race) it's £45 each for a group of 12 or more. They are asking for an additional £100 (per group) for the use of the full 2.1km track. That's around £8 each. I think if we could get more than 12, maybe the extra £100 could be swallowed by Teeside Karting.

Could we see a final list of drivers for this Sunday session ASAP so that I can book a slot.

So far:

Minimax
Toon jeff
3rtt plus 2
Broadside
Wedg1e
Byff
Andychim 400
castex
AllyT
gez

I think it will be a real blast and looking forward to it.

Anyone else?

Cheers,
Ian.
