After lots of deliberating and discussions with the wife, we've finally decided on what our next car will be. It features a sporty little engine, leather seats, sat-nav, two doors, four seats and what's really won us over is the panoramic glass sunroof.

There is a one on eBay with a few days left and typically, the Cerb is still sitting on my drive and my bank balance won't stretch to just buying it now. You should never go looking for cars until you have the readies in your hot sweaty hand.

I might just use the buy it now button, then find an excuse as to why I can't get down to pick it up until next week when the Cerb's funds are in my hand. Would that be morally wrong?

Well, the search goes on. I had my eye on a Mini John Cooper Works, but it's been sold. Damn!

There is a standard Cooper S close to where I live, but I don't know if I should wait for another JCW to come along.

There's always a few JCW's in PH classifieds. We were looking there for a replacement for Carole's Mini but I think we may now go for the new 2007 model Coopers S. We are waiting for a test drive, the new models are turbo rather than supercharger.

Proper JCW are a bit special however performance wise you can get close with just a Bluefin remap and even closer with a lightened pulley. Having said that the JCW seats are worth the extra money alone

It's pretty hard to find one with the seats in it. Every one I've looked at has had the standard leather seats. From what I've read in the forums, the seats were an optional extra.

I might just buy a normal Cooper S, I want something quick, but nothing will replace the grunt the Cerb used to give me, so it's a waste of time looking to make a Mini quicker, it'll never compete. I might as well just save the £3.5k people seem to put on the price and buy some bling wheels for the Lincoln instead.
