The best bits from ToonHoon (like)

Tom giving us a wonderfull route, emailed all the relevent junctions from multimap, printed out routes and handed them out. Proudly proclaims that he'll lead the way as we'll all hold him up, only to forget that he needs fuel first and promptly leads half a pack of bemused pistonheaders into Tesco petrol station. The second half of the group which turned the right way, then spent the entire journey trying to catch up the non-existant leaders.
and continue.....
and continue.....
a) when we did eventually get onto the military road (after following Tom into Ponteland), people popping out of random junctions into various gaps in the 'pack' in timely italian-job stylee.
b) the noise... oh the noise. nuff said. ok i'll say a little more... specifically on the run back going through Rothbury hearing 5 TVR's going through narrow, stoned walled echoey (is that even a word?) streets; exhausts popping like mad.

I'll get some photos up today or tomorrow.
Byff, you forgot to mention the wonderful friends that we made on our journey; the helpful ranger at Kielder called adolf, the informative and friendly chappy from northumbrian water who could talk for ages on the intricacies of pay and display, the high performance moped rider who put our driving to shame in Jedburgh and who could forget the hords of welcoming residents at Rothbury who came into the streets to celebrate our sedate entry into their picturesque and unspoilt village. I thought it was particularly kind of you to respond to their welcome with your one man parade down the main street; they were asking for it!
Tom, well done mate for organising the Toon Hoon _ fantastic route, no plod and a top bunch of people with laughs a plenty. You definitely led from the front in your own style. I'm sure everyone appreciates the effort you put in to make the day a success.
Everybody else; good to meet you all and look forward to the next one. When I get the photos up if anybody wants their own copies then email me.
Bomb; I'm sure you would have enjoyed it, even though there were't any big women along for the drive.
Dave; thanks for being the passenger and managing to take a decent amount of video footage and soory bud, didn't manage to find your salsa wraps in my capacious boot.
Byff; any chance of getting together at some point to splice together some footage for Piston Heads TV?

I'm sure we can sort something out. I'll review what footage I have, thanks to Stacey and Christian for putting up with my old video camera - top job!
Another of my favorite bits - Zebra videoing all the traffic coming out of the tunnel, only to turn around and find the group parked up in the lay-by

All photos I took are now up, however not done any processing on them. Ill have a look in the week to see if theres any I can tweak.
For now I'll post a few of my favs and the rest are here www.flickr.com/photos/johnboyo/sets/72157594287525674/

Def well done Tom was a great weekend.
Think every has already gone through everything.
Was a lot of fun, was impressed that i managed to keep up. Byff your TVR was just so noisy, it was great.
Cheers to my navigator Stacey, not that we needed to look at a map.
Thanks
Paddy
Edited to add, great photos, can't wait to see the videos.

No Problem bud, I just didn't want your car to start smelling like a ropey kebab shop on a Friday night when it got fried by your engine at 90 deg!!
Was a cracking drive, I've got that bit of footage of you onmy phone which I'll try and email to you later tonight. I watched it about 5 times last night - cracking stuff! look forward to seeing the full film back. But If it turns out poo... I'll be changing me PH handle and retire my Jeremy Beadle hand!!!

A big thumbs up to the organiser (Tom) and all the other lads (and lasses) who were top drawer!

And once again Zebra, thanks for the ride, my ears are sting ringing! Oh, and I've developed piles I think, but I won't go into that!
Cheers all,
Dave

Big thanks to tom for organizing it,also for leaving marks on the road for us to follow, coming up to a junction before Rothbury, unsure of the direction to take but here was two tyre marks on the road....Tom went that way
Loved Warren's quote, is this a car club ? No just some nutters I met on the the Internet
so hope it works.
