How to spend £380 on fuel in 5 days. Go drive the most wonderful hooning roads in the country, the Northern Highlands of Scotland.

Not another vehicle in sight

Single track roads with Police notices saying 'Allow Overtaking', and everybody did.

All the way to the top

and good weather too! Glad you had a good one Bob. One thing I'll say is you know how to really enjoy your motor. I'm in the mood for taking off too, but circumstances don't allow it for the foreseeable future.
I'll know where to go though.

I'll sort out a map sometime to show the best routes. There's a lovely triangle around the northeast corner and some excellent roads around Loch Ness (if you know where to look). I stopped in a B&B in Edinburgh last November and found an old tatted book entitled 'Scotland's best loved driving roads'. I acquired a copy for my self and planned to visit when time and weather were right.

looks brilliant bob!

I did something similar on a lesser scale on the weekend, 170 miles round northumberland at warp speed

fairly empty roads, lots of animals (splat) and fantastic views
