Evening all...........long story, but have a dumpy bag (1 Tonne) of bricklaying/yellow sand left over which is surplus to requirements, does anyone have a use for it and can come and get it pretty sharpish?
It's currently in the back of my landie, so I could drop it off in exchange for petrol money, but it's a V8.........so it would probably work out cheaper to buy a desert and ship it over!
Anyway, if anyone wants it let me know (I'm near Peterlee).........all sorts of uses for the stuff; kiddies sand pits (although the children may end up stained yellow)........or re-enact that beach holiday with the missus in the middle of the front street........

I think 'Health and Safety' people will hit you with a big stick if you offer it for children's sandpits. Best not go there.

Not only health and safety, the kids parents aswell - it does turn you yellow. It's a bit ironic that you can't use soft sand in a playpit but you can use sharp sand.

Great if you have clay soil.
Dig it in and it soon breaks it down. Nicked some of the same from a neighbour for a garden a couple of years back.
Plants are now thriving

But no good for kids sandpits as others have said.

Why not fill your trouser pockets each time you go out, and scatter it 'Great Escape' style......

Try dropping it off in your local shops etc. Carpet shops are a good bet.

They will never notice, and I reckon you could lose 1 x tonne in about 6 weeks without too much trouble.
