After all the little niggles I've had (mainly water loss, overheating, etc) were sorted (no more water loss, no more overheating) my bl**dy fan's packed in! I wired it up so it was on permanently, and now it don't do nuffin!
Anybody know a handy garage around Newcastle that could have a look at this for us? I'm sure it's something minor.

any autoelectricians should be able to sort you out. don't know any inparticular in newcastle unfortunately.

get a multimeter and see if there's anything getting to it.
did you fuse it? if so have you checked the fuse?
use the correctly rated wiring for it?
checked all your wiring connections?

Have you checked the fuses? Silly question i know, but the fans may have originally packed in because of the otter switch (this has just happened on my Chimaera and i'm running them permanently until a replacement becomes available), and with the constant current, this could have just popped the fuse. On a Chimaera it's an orange 40amp one with surge-protection, but you'll have to check your handbook for the S. If you have any doubts, take it to Hexham HC, they live and breath these things. Why not bring it up to the NE TVRCC meeting this Sunday, and see if any of the other owners can help

Hi Gareth, the problem could be simply that the fan has given up. They were not designed to run non-stop and if they do so the bearings fail and the fan locks up. It will be worthwhile checking the fuses first as they may have fused. These fans draw a pretty big current however in our experience the fan fails before the fuse! Hope that this helps.

Well I've managed to get the fan working again....I think the wiring with the two white connectors just behind the radiator is burnt out. My boys here have fashioned a bypass, but I have to activate it using a blade fuse to connect two random wires up. How frustrating.....
