The Cerbera is in the classifieds [blatantplug]www.pistonheads.com/sales/83705.htm[/blantantplug] at long last but after several what car next discussions, I've finally made my mind up.

My very next car will be either a BMW Mini or a Clio 172 sport. This is because I will need to reduce how much fuel I'm going through in preparation for the next car, which will replace the Lincoln.

In time honoured tradition, I've always increased the size of my engine with each new car purchase and I'm not letting this tradition slip.

I started life with a :-

1.1 Escort
1.8 Cavalier SRi
2.0 TR7 Convertible
2.9 Granada Scorpio
3.2 Jaguar XJ6
4.0 Jeep Grand Cherokee
4.5 TVR Cerbera, shortly replaced by a 4.2
5.4 Lincoln Navigator

So what can be bigger than 5.4?

Hows about a 6.75 Bentley Arnage. Oh yes Baby! Were talking Red Label. Unfortunately, I can't quite afford one yet, but by the time the Lincoln needs replacing, I should be about there.

Well, a Bentley Turbo R is the same engine... can be had quite cheaply these days too!

There's just something about the Arnage that I love. Should still be able to waft me along at silly speeds if required, but for the most part, it'll be a nice quiet comfortable ride - makes a change eh?

Byff, that is on fantastic looking machine... I saw it close up at one of the NEPH Shaftoes meetings... I could be sorely tempted if I didn't love the open top experience of my Chim so much.

The very best of luck with the sale..

The choice after that is narrowing a bit though...maybe a 7.2 litre Interceptor, then perhaps an 8 litre Eldorado, then what? A Learjet?

I dunno if you can remember our conversation at BB&T, you were a little, erm... intoxicated, but basically, I'll never have a bike.

Made a deal with my Grandad when I was 16 that I'll not buy a bike and he gave me his car when I turned 17. Just because he's 6ft under, doesn't mean I can break that promise.
