I had my Dax Cobra into Macdonald racing in Lanchester last week for a "general look over" and tune up, that was the brief.
I had read some good reports on PH's so decided to give them a try.

They......

- set the timing,
- set up the carbs,
- adjusted the mixture,
- checked plugs etc,

They also rolling roaded the car for me and gave me a print out and graph of the performance figures.

How much ?

Less than a hundred ?
Can't have taken them more than an hour.

I hope so, as I want to have mine set up there too.

The point is if you got a DAX its not for driving and not fast or round corners ..... its for polishing and looking at .... a very low value fake snake !!!!!!!

Ahh....I just looked at your profile I see you have a "REAL ONE" I am well aware of how you guys or gals (not sure if Pat is male or female)look down your nose at us "kit car" owners, but yes I largely look at it and polish it just as I do with my "MING VASE."

whatever blows your frock up

A pound down and a pound a week and we can all have one.
Now knowing how to drive the debt is quite a different matter.

Shall we just leave the window open so that it buzzes back out again ?

Anyway.....I posted this thread in the regional section with the relevance to Macdonalds Racing. The price for the work was £80 and after TVR Cerbera ownership to say it was resonable is an understatment. They done a good job at a honest price

Thanks southpaw,

I don't mind what anyone drives as long as they get their pleasure from it.I also come from the school of "if you have nothing good to say,say nothing."

For someone with a real SNAKE he's not very CHARMING.

Been using them for the last three years for my Griff. Always provided excellent service and good value.
Last time i was in they lent me a brand new Morgan for an hour.
Anyway, what's the DAX putting out ?

Wassy.......I think it was your last post that lent me toward trying them.
I am not mad keen on reving the car hard so I asked them to only rev it to 3500 rpm,its only done 1400mls, (I know...pussy) apparently they rev to 6000rpm.

Figures;
engine 310.9hp @ 3480 rpm
torque 346lbs/ft @ 3480 rpm

When the car has done a few more miles I may give it a propper run,but I was well pleased all round when I collected the car.

David.

Well, the last car I had on a rolling road was one of my Lotus Sevens, at CC Racing in Kirbymoorside. They maintained a team of racing Porsches at the time.

BUT, it was 20 odd years ago and cost 40 quid, so I'm a bit out of date.

Allowing for inflation, 80 quid sounds like a bargain !

very reasonably priced there

are they able to rolling road 4 wheel drive cars or just 2?

appreciate they probably wont be overly impressed when a japanese car turns up wanting a run on the dyno, but it would save me a lot of miles if they could get my GTR on there, plus i want to see what she's making after a few more tweaks recently

Spoke to the mechanic the other day and they had just done an MR2 dyno day so no probs with Jap cars.
Not sure if they can do 4 wheel drives though.

bugger about the 4wd part, and it appears they only go to 350bhp, which is a fair bit lower than the car's running now.

might take the 200sx up there for a run before she ventures of their scale too.
