Shame £75/hr is far too much, it'd have been perfect to take the Libra too as well. I might pop up sometime and have a word.

agree, that sort of labour rate is daft, even F1's rate of £60/hr is steep

And what makes this even worse is they only really know about Elise's.. which in essence is a Toyoto celica engine? Dont know if this is correct but I know its not a Lotus built engine, ask them a question about an Esprit and they are clueless, I really dont like this company

The early cars where Rover K Series and the Toyota engine is only a recent addition to allow for Lotus to take the Elise into the American market (and more than likely as they knew about the imminent demise of rover)

A 10p phone call would answer that very accurately rather than speculate. 01434 601666...

Just to allay any worries, we charge £72 per hour for TVR and Noble and these are national rates for the respective networks. We operate a loyalty scheme for customers who purchase their cars from ourselves which reduces their labour rate to £60 per hour. Lotus cars will be charged out at £60 per hour and we expect to initiate a similar loyalty scheme in due course. We carry out routine servicing to manufacturers scheduled times, and any laborious jobs (Very time consuming!) attract a revised hourly rate!! (Lower, not higher!).
We are very excited to be given the opportunity to represent Lotus and hope to further develop Hexham Horseless Carriages into THE sportscar centre for the North! See you all at Croft on the 26th July!
Best regards, Tony

All charges excluding VAT, and I forgot to mention that for TVR Car Club members we offer a 10% discount on our labour charges. We look forwards to being of assistance to all you fellow sportscar nuts!

Its refreshing to know Formula one will loose their total monopoly on Lotus business in the North East, Will HHC be selling Esprits/Elans/and other wedgey models?.. or just Elises?

Cheers

I'll do it for £50 an hour... Got an Esprit workshop manual somewhere, the Elise'll be just as bad

you lot should quit moaning aboutn labour charges...i'm currently reconsidering my car position and looking at elises means I have to take in to account the £120+VAT per hour servicing cost from the local specialist

I told him if I bought one i'd drive the thing to the midlands or the north and still save money on the total bill inc petrol!
