Had environmental health come knocking on my door.

Is that your car sir? We've had a complaint about the noise at 6:00am.

After a nice little chat on the doorstep, mainly me doing the chatting about how I have to slow down and accelerate for the speed humps down the road and that TVR's are notoriously loud (neglecting to tell them that mines a little louder than standard), they went off happy.

Their parting comment was "It's a beautiful car, I wish I had one" and not to worry, they wont bother me again.

I'd still love to know who made the complaint, my suspicions are:

New neighbours just moved in over the road - everyone else in my street knows each other and would complain to my face, or

When I did accelerate (hard and fast) from the speedhumps, I startled an old fella working in his garden and I saw him clocking the car. This was at about 4:00 in the afternoon so the times don't match, but I might be disturbing him in the mornings and he's now found out who it is.

I'll be watching out for police officers when I leave for work. Forunately, I'll be on a pushbike now that the weather is a little better, gives me some excercise and saves me £50 a week on fuel, plus it's only a mile down the road so I'm not going to strain myself.

I like the 'It's the speed humps fault sir' bit. Nicely turned around

Someone complained to my parents about my Marlin when the exhaust fell off (snapped in front of the silcencer). The already "loud" car now just had about 3ft of 1" straight cut bore and sounded beautiful! The complaint came as I was driving to the exhaust place to get it put back on.

The noise was glorious though!

I noticed that you'r as good at yapping as me

Told my neigbour that i was after a TVR sometime this year. "Good" He said "It'll stop them whining about my cars"
He's 6 am starter.... I'm NOT. But told him he could have a set of keys to get mine all nice and warm!

I'm quite shy really, but once I get going, I can't stop.

I was a motormouth at Shaftoes because I knew you were in a hurry and I was trying to fit as much info in as I could.

Just arrived home from another stint abroad, so I'll be up at 0600 hrs waking-up the locals up around my area

Its only fair to let them hear it every now and again.

'Give the old girl a damn good thrashing'

......and then go for a drive in the car !!

Only home for 24 hrs then off again. The cars just not getting the miles it should
