I'm looking for a Cerbera, and live just south of Middlesbrough. Is there a tvr indi within our area. I like my cars 110% so am looking for a good specialist.

Not too many TVR dealers round let alone specialists but i can't sing the praises high enough for Hexham HC. They were excellent when i had my Cerbera, services were excellent, always friendly and willing to assist.

I'll second that. Hexham HC is in a different league to Harrogate HC so go the extra miles and use Hexham HC.

The only 'indi' in the area that i know of is Sports and Specialist Cars in Boroughbridge (sp!). Bedlington Motors (in Bedlington!) used to specilise in TVR's but seams to have moved on to more 'mainstream' sports cars.

Just to reinforce earlier comments, you'll very rarly hear anything but good feedback about Hexham, always very nice people to deal with. But also with such a rare car as the Cerbera, i would be prepared to cast your net nationally to find the right one.

Bedlington used to outsource mechanical stuff to an independent in the Edinburgh area

Thanks! Not as far as i was begining to think.
The distance to find one is not a prob, i'v family in Glos' and Ipswich so wifie wont complain when i see one on the south coast
At the moment i'm trying to figure out if its worth the 5k to get a Lightweight. Not even sure what colour etc! Only thing i am sure of, its got to be the 4.5

you will find very little difference between the 4.2 and 4.5 apart from bragging rights. i had a 4.5 and i very mouch doubt there was any difference in mine compared with BYFF's 4.2 .... they both go like sh1t off a showel, sound awesome and pop and bang on over-run like nothing short of a turbo rally car. 4.5 has larger brakes but not that you would notice, larger wheels and tyres but most people upgrade to the spiders or stay with the traditional RL7 in 17 or the rare RL7 18 inch Red Rose alloy ... i prefer the traditional RL7 unless you have had the light conversion done too.
drive a few and buy on the quality of the car not the age or mileage, must have a good if not full SH and some mods like sports exhaust, wheels and suspension upgrades are quite normal in TVR's.

If i were you i would go up and see Tony at HHC, have a coffee and a good chat with him, he's a top bloke. They have some cars in that they have sold and serviced from new ..... as they say better the devil you know.

I bought a T350T at the begining of the year and I posted a simliar question. Although HHC gets praise all the time I would consider Falcon motor sport which is on Davy road Skippers Lane.

I have used them for the past 2 years now and they have alot of TVRs go through there. I talked to them about servicing mine and using TVR parts and there rates were very good.

You just have to go to the garage just to see how good the service is. They are all nuts about cars.

Another couple of question for you guys.
Theres been a couple of cerbs i realy like the look of. eg sunset yellow. But the interiors let them down. Can you easaly get full interiors, and how much etc? Or is this just a silly idear!
I also get the idear that the bhp varies greatly. How do i find out/know if its a good one?
Thanks again guys.

Much easier to get the interior colour you want and have the exterior repainted .. interiors of cerbies don't come to bits easily, it was the main reason Peter Wheeler reckoned the car was so expensive to make!!

BHP .. if you can get a car to me (chesterfield) i can run it on my dyno .. you'd have to sign a disclaimer first though

Your a bit far away for a test run, would be nice though! HexHC reconed one of there best cars for bhp was a 4.2 and its very easy to get a pore one?

As an owner of both 4.2's and 4.5's, I'd agree that the only time you'll see a difference is over 150mph and lets face it, doing over 150 on the queens highway is a bit risky and you'll never get that high a speed on a trackday, unless it's the Nurbergring.

4.2's have pretty reliable strong BHP figures, where as the 4.5's have the greatest potential of not meeting their quota. However, the 4.5 can be tuned more easily (more easily doesn't necessarly mean cheaply!) with ECU upgrades, Red Rose conversions and induction modifications.

You'd be better off getting the colour of interior/exterior that you want, on a car that's been looked after with suspension upgrades/exhaust/wheels/lights that you prefer. The size of the engine is a long way down the list for me.

BTW, I think Cerbera's are awesome with light colour schemes, Reds, light Blues and Silver, they tend to stand out from the crowd a little easier.

I'll be at Shaftoes this month, It'd be worth coming along for a chat.
