Ouch....Iv'e been rumbled. There's even more scary pictures of me on the site too.

Thanks Dexy....MATE.

In those days I drove a Mark 1 Escort Estate with enough tin worm to start a pet shop. I got to know some realy dodgy MOT garages who would pass the car for a favour........No not that type of favour....I was the only straight one in the village. Many stories to tell during my time broadcasting, but I'll leave that for another time.

Cheers,
Ian.

There used to be an Ian Fisher as well... did the last show of an evening before closing down for the night (those were the days!)... now there's an Ian Fisher Commmunications in Newcastle; wonder if it's the same guy?

I remember Ian Fisher, dunno if it's the same guy in Newcastle.

My first shift was the nightshift 2am - 6am shortly after the station went 24 hours.

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian:
You probably remember Wincey Willis then; she started as the newsreader or weather girl on Tees. Without saying too much I used to encounter her at the place where I worked, she was a right stuck-up, look-at-me-I'm-a-celebrity type.

She originally looked after the record library at the studios in Dovecot Street, then found fame presenting the weather on Tyne Tees TV. The part of the job I didn't really enjoy was all the stuck up, Im-a-celebrity types the industry attracted......and that was just the cleaning staff.

Cheers,
Ian.

Thats an intresting site.

I worked for the sister station Metro from 1993-1998 and then Nov 1998-June 2000 at TFM.

Currently @ Century since June 2000.

that was the good days when radio was fun.

Small world isnt it

Perhaps you knew Peter Hetherington at Metro then? He was the old dears' favourite, presented some programme of old tunes.
Shame that when he wasn't at work he was kiddy-fiddling... Wonder if he's out yet?

Edit: Century? As in Five Ways, Birmingham? I was in the building next door on Thursday...

Yep I knew Peter. I will always remember being in an Edit studio with one of the other presenters when Peter walked past the door to do his evening programme. Everyone was wishing him good luck..... we never saw him again.

I still cant beleive what happened and what was said to have gone on.

often makes you wonder about who you work with.
