The DVLA said I can reapply as early as Feb '06. Trouble is, what do I buy to replace the Wee Beastie (S2 went in June)? Can't wait to get back on the road. I've got a £5k budget......

Well I had a little Tiv till June, and fancy another coz of the noise, but I know that because of the time of year I might be able to bag something a bit more 'special'...it's gonna be a 3rd car whatever, so i could get something really daft.

You definitely need a Westfield or a Stuart Taylor Phoenix !!!

They're both fast as f*** and cheap to insure on kit car insurance which may still be an issue with your record

I got 6 points 2 years ago and got quoted between £150 to £220 to insure my Westie and its 205bhp.

A good Westie will cost you anything from £7k upwards and a brand new factory built ST Phoenix witht the new CDS round tube chassis and Yamaha R1 engine will be around £14k...... oh I want one now ! www.stuart-taylor.co.uk/phoenix.html

This one has just come on the Classifieds (nothing to do with me either !)

Let us know what you decide.

That can't be right.

Our local pet shop was flogging them at £250 each. Mind you, that might have been a 'runt'.

I've got up to £4500 to blow on a toy. So far I've been tempted by a S3 Esprit 2.2 and another Tiv (S1). Any other ideas would be welcome! My missus has ruled out the Lotus

Thanks for keeping an eye out!

That's good news Gareth. How about a wedge? They're quite cheap at the moment and even the SE's are hovering around 5-6 ish. Another S? or the Esprit? (Why the missus no like?)

Thanks Tony. Not long now.....

Funnily enough, a certain local gent has told me his red 390SE may be available. I'd have another S tomorrow if I could find one. There's a lovely S3, the same red as my last one, but it went yesterday. The Esprit is in London unfortunately, if it was nearer I'd show her what a proper retro sportscar looks like.

The money's burning a hole in my pocket!
