I have just bought a Skyline which I pick up next week. The only problem is it has some graphix on it.

Anyone know a company that will be able to remove them? Preferably in South Tyneside

Hi Mate

You can usually remove them with a hair dryer and remove the residue with meths.

My engine builder got his Elise all stickered up for a recent track day, he is on this forum as djroadboy, he might have the number of the guy who did his car and he will know how to get them off.

I assume that you live in S.Tyneside? If so I will have to keep an eye open for you, but no racing. My Elise might be quick but not against your rocket!

I've done this a couple of times with roof decals on a Mini One. I just ease a corner up and pull. It does leave an outline because the vinyl shrinks onto the car leaving a glue residue around the edges. This can be removed with 'sticky stuff' remover or polish. As Paul suggests meths should do too.

I'm not sure about the hairdrier though. I use a hairdrier to help bond new vinyl. Heat will shrink the vinyl.

I used a hairdrier to remove the stickers off my Suzuki jeep.

Heated the corner of the sticker until it bacame soft then pick it away from the paint and pull it off in one sheet.

I used T Cut to get rid of the glue outline.

Thanks guys. I'll give it a go.

I have also been given the number of Car Cosmetics? in South Shields.

Paul, I'll have to keep an eye out for you when ever I'm in Shields, I live just up the road in Boldon.

In all honesty I should really get along to one of the NEPH meets.

I can't wait to collect the car. The spec is awesome, only problem is, is that it use to be a show car and is very Fast n Furious, that's why I want to get the graphix off asap.

I'm also concerned about how legal the Screamer Pipe is that is on it?? It sounds fantastic though.

Cheers

Car Cosmetics - speak to Russel, he's the guy who owns it. Nice chap.

They are located in maxwell street, not far from springs health club.

Another recommendation for Car Cosmetics. They made up some new stripes/badges for my Tasmin and they were excellent.

Car cosmetics do a grand job, had a couple of jobs done there and always first class work. The fella that runs it is very helpful and friendly.

WTF is a screamer pipe?

I recently had a spy at a Skyline R33 GTR and it had its own seperate exhaust pipe for the turbo blow off, it was about 3" Dia, but the turbo did look like it had just been removed from a 40T Merc truck !

It channels the gas from the external wastegate through a separate pipe instead of the exhaust - therefore making one hell of a racket!

Here is the spec of the Skyline I've bought:
GTR Intercooler
Greddy TD06 20g Turbo
Trust External Wastegate with screamer pipe
N1 Oil Pump
N1 Water Pump
HKS CAMS 256x264 (Stage 2)
Tomei 87mm Pistons
Nimo Race Bearing
Lightened and Balanced Engine
Lighted Flywheel
Standard conrods (treated)
OSG Twin Plate Clutch
1.2mm Tomei Head Gasket
Greddy Inlet Manaifold
Apexi Power FC
Wizardsof NOS 25BHP Jets(11Ib Bottle)

It's running 385BHP at the wheels at only 0.8 Bar with 325lbf at 6200rpm , little bit more work and I should get that up to a lot.

The guy that built the engine of mine built and runs the fastest recorded Skyline GTST in the UK, and the engine in mine is similiar spec. He runs a garage called The Garage.
