Any Car Stuff In The NE August 24-31?
Discussion
We’re having a family week near Hexam on the above dates. Are there any local car shows or other motoring stuff going on? We’ll be having the mandatory run up to Duns to The Jim Clark Museum and my granddaughter wants to go to Beamish. No doubt I’ll get dragged to The Metro Centre at some stage.Any ideas? I’m going to The Croft Nostalgia Meeting in August so The Darlington Club Bank Holiday Meeting is out of bounds.

Will you be around on Sunday 1st? If visiting Beamish if time permits maybe pop next door to:

Not visited yet so only a speculative recommendation.

The car barn and Aston workshop are worth a visit as is the black horse on site pub for some grub - they are also ineo’s dealers if you like them? Your date means you're just missing the car barn meeting the week before - shame as it’s usually well attended.
If the family want to go shopping there’s the silverlink at Wallsend - car wise it’s dealers but within walking distance there’s Porsche, Ferrari, Bentley, Aston Martin and JLR as well as other ‘less glamorous’ brands? Just thought.

Just to round this up if anyone’s interested.. The car show was very good for a village event, some lovely motors there including an original (I think) RS 200.
We got to the Jim Clark Museum at Duns, Beamish, a very wet Kielder and the Roman Soldier Enactment at Vindolanda. We even avoided a shopping trip!
