My insurance policy runs out in October this year and when I rang round today of the three companies that will quote for <25 year olds, not one is wanting my bussiness.

My current broker has lot a contact meaning the cheapest they can do is £900 for 5000 limited miles, SP&D only with a £500 excess. One refused to quote for someone who is unemployed, even refusing to further the conversation the moment that fact was "revealed". The last had a truly appalling telephone manor and offered £1218.

I paid £600 the first year (age 20) and £400 (21) this year for unlimited milage SDP&C and was budgeting expecting <£400 this year.

What a stupid mess this is!

edit:: as for 7 months, my current insurers can only offer insurance when I turn 23 in April next year and are the cheapest by a significant margin!

As a friend pointed out, this country sucks when you can't even drive the cars you want to and have been safely for 2 years!

I guess you've tried a few brokers but you should give Footman James a go. They may come up with the goods.

I'm considering putting a complaint in against Footman James after what I can only attribue to racial slur, but then I may be mistaken/she may have had a bad day They wanted £1218 as well.

It's been suggested MSM (who I hadn't heard of before) so all may not be lost. Plus of course, I may get a job soon and then Adrian Flux will quote

Try Graham Sykes or Lancaster Insurance. Both a bit more specialised...

The good thing about been over-dramatic about things and getting a little upset about events, is when they turn good you end up with a feeling of elation

MSM have sorted me out very nicely. I'm sure they wouldn't quote me last time I called them (must have been <21 not 25).
