Roll-up Roll-up :)

Monday August 29th at 14:00 meeting on the Felling Bypass (A194)|http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=433230&Y=563310&A=Y&Z=3 with an aim to leave around 14:30.

We'll have a slow, very noisy toddle through the tyne tunnel (so bring 2x£1 coins) and then onto Tynemouth for Ice creams. From there we'll head out of the town for a drive through the countryside towards Amble for a Fish and Chips Supper before looping back onto the A19 for another slow and uber noisy trip through the tunnel.

The run is to say "goodbye" to Byff's Cerbera and there will be video camera's along for the ride so have a happy face on!

Oooh, might be along, might not.
The f@#$ing Marcos is running a little warm, so it's a panic to get things ready for the MOT on friday.
If all goes well, I'll be there.
If not, anyone going to have a spare seat?

I've been thinking actually, if it's a nice day traffic could be hideous...

Traffic though the tunnel is always horendous, I used to work in a factory at wallsend and went through it and back every working day for 6 years only time its quiet is at night, and one side is usually closed off for maintenance, so you have to sit and wait to be escorted through anyway, bank holiday will bring extra traffic... caravans, campers etc .....

I went through last Saturday afternoon.
10 minutes queuing, then 10mph all the way through.
Not much fun.
I came back (from Berwick) straight down the A169 at around 5pm. Piece of cake - straight through.

Be positive folks.

Actually, having said that I'm a little concerned that byff hasn't posted on this thread.

Chances are that I won't be joining you because I have family stuff on Monday evening and I need time to organise.

if I can liberate some fuel money, I'll definately join in with this as it literally goes past my house almost!!

whereabouts on the felling bypass - is it the layby heading east just before that performance car garage - just before you get to Testo's Roundabout?

yep, thats the lay-by.

It would appear prudent to consider that this run may not happen - there is only one more-than-likely definite, two potentials (depending on their cars) and me (who is not massively keen on seeing the traffic/busy'ness). As Bob points out, the person this run was for (Byff) hasn't replied yet either...

We shall see

I'm not sure I'll be making it down to Shafto's tonight - have other plans.

I'll be there in Cougers Lotus if this all goes ahead (Is that still OK?).
Would love to take the Marcos but at present it's just too much of a liability. I don't want to pop another head gasket quite yet!

Cancelling sounds like the best idea.
Shame, but not much point without the guest/car of honour.

Couger, if you're heading out on Monday and there is still a spare seat going give me a call, I'm still up for a run out.

bah - the one day I'm free, and it's a bank holiday (so the roads will be dead around here cos all and sundry will be on the lager at whitley bay etc) and it's cancelled

Hello everyone

I've just got back from my holidays. Battery is flat, the brakes have seized on and everything needs loosening off again and the car's just as bad

I'm well chuffed that this has been planned, but as I'm along so late in the day, postponing the event seems a wise move. Tommorow will be spent just gradually getting the car back into motion.
