3 angle Valve Cutting in the North East
Discussion
Hi folks,
Called up Engine Services in Dunston today to get some of my development cylinder heads sorted with valve seat cutting. Seats are in good nick and have enough material to cut slightly bigger valves into. To my surprise they don't do 3 angle seats. Another business, that I've only seen poor long block work from, quoted my eyes out after quoting quite literally 1/9th of the cost at first on the phone at first, before completely going back on themselves. At that point I may as well spend twice and buy the appropriate cutter for the Bridgeport and do it myself. I'm based in Durham and don't mind a drive. Who can cut valves and valve seats for reasonable money? Perhaps they can supply valves too if their price is reasonable.

Nobody does F**k all in the NE anymore re proper engine building. All the old school engine builders are retiring and most of the ones who say they can can't You will have to go much further afield to find a proper engine machinist.
AMAC in Northallerton is your best bet and one of the few proper engine machine shops left.
Speak to Alastair.

Try Erimus engines in Thornaby, he's been around for a long time and his father ran the business before him.
