Croft HHC day this Wednesday
Discussion
i'm in the area on wednesday taking the Ginetta down to macdonalds to get fettled, if I have alternative transport i'll be there
on a side note, took the Ginetta out on saturday evening my, it was COVERED in dust! not surprising as it had been standing for 4 months!
the wheels were locked and it's thanks to the torque that I managed to force them into motion!
all the cables that operate the doors, bonnet, hood and boot were seized but when I started it it fired immediately like it was last used an hour ago
took down my personal private test track (sorry, I mean the A696 up to the airport and back ) and reached *25mph and blew a hose off thereby covering myself and passenger in coolant... the radiator must have corroded hey ho!
otherwise it's in good nick and I can't wait for the croft NEPH day!

How often do these things get organised ??
HHC do two per year and I'll be running one again Sunday 18th September

Out of interest, what's a decent lap time around Croft ?
I'm good for 1:51 but a good race car lap is more like 1:27. The track is second to none for safety, good marshalling and the escape areas are road car friendly. Tyres take a bashing and I usually see off £50 in fuel but I'm having fun so I don't care.

Was my first real track day yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have done Vmax, but thats a completely different type of thing.
I've seen track days advertised in Sprint, so will keep an eye out for them.
Was good to have the TVR Engineers there, otherwise I would have been home by 12 noon, radiator airlock (so thanks guys), after initally thinking the radiator had cracked.
Got progressively faster throughout the day, with my final lap being a 1.41. Still couldn't quite master the section 'sunny' & 'complex', although suspect may have been trying to carry too much speed through 'Barcroft' as was struggling on the brakes at times (sliding a bit into 'Sunny').
Still, never mind, always next time to try again.
Roll on the next one.

Bah. I'm gutted I missed it. And to make it worse, the exam I took on Wed I have a feeling I failed
Hopefully I passed yesterdays so perhaps not a totally wasted trip and trackday abstinance.
Well at least you lot seemed to have decent weather (as arranged by Tony) and a decent days hooning.
