Hope everyone got home safe and sound

Cracking weekend, will have to do it again next year. Hope Wedg1e got home safe. I'm now going to have to take the Cerb off the road - despite having dodgy diff bushes, I've used it to go Birmingham and Cadwell now, not bad for something that I'm only using for emergencies. Only a week to go before it's fixed.

I see Wedg1e posted earlier on, so presumably he got back ok.
The big question Wedg1e, is, did you fix the CD player?
Pity about Thorpedo going up in flames !
Am I going deaf, or are racing cars getting very quiet nowadays ?
Yes, finally...
..but under my own power, and without any outside assistance! (I fixed it again before the AA turned up).
Just had the fuel system in bits, and I think the problem is a worn out fuel pump - it cut out four times on the way home, the last just as I pulled in, so was able to take the carbs to bits whilst the problem was there - float chambers empty, needle valves working fine, 2/4 idle jets blocked (but it was happening at 70mph on dual carriageways, so would've been running on mains). With pump clattering away in the back, no fuel coming from filter (and the pump has a pressure sensor, so if the filter was blocked, the line would be pressurised and the pump would be switched off). On each occasion, normal progress ws resumed after about 40mins with the ignition (+ fuel pump) off, so I think I need a new one of those.
PS Cheers Bob for suggesting (I shan't use the term "organising" such a gathering of like-minded individuals (apart from you-know-who) and a thoroughly enjoyable day's racing.

I got home!
the bug managed to roar us back to nottingham at a stately rate of progression although we did once touch 83mph down a particularly long hill with a following wind
it's the most economical car i've ever owned - it averaged 37mpg there and back and I had my foot on the boards all the way!
my thanks also to bob for 'suggesting' the gathering of like minded individuals and what a fantastic weekend I have had, truly worth the stress to get there! hopefully I can now flog the car and make a bit of cash too!
