Been trawling the threads looking for when the American meet-up is at McD's at the Metrocentre.

I can sort of remember it being the first or second Wednesday of the month. Can anyone confirm?

Americana - Its bloody expensive though. When you eventually find the entry fees hidden in the depths of the web site you'll find its abot £40-55 each depending on how long you visit.

Trouble is its gone from being a car show to a "lifestyle" event, with prices to match. I love American cars but dressing like Boss Hogg and listening to crap music is not my thing. I stopped going 12 years ago.

i use to do the newark kit car shows and sound offs but started to dissagree with them charging us exibitors big fees ,as without us there would be no show,
THERE JUST MONEY SPINNERS WITH NO INTREST IN CARS EXEPT EXPLOITING THE ENTHUSIASTS ,hence saltburn show was our brain child born one drunken friday in rosey ogradeys,
and witch is still getting bigger each year,
may be we should ALL BOYCOT any show where the enthusiast pays.

Interesting - - - Cars were lovely, my favourite was a 65 Impala on air that had been fully restored, I'll post some pics when I get sorted.

Did your mate say hello?

I don't think he spoke much all weekend. Too busy with his tongue hanging out.

you're forgetting a certain small Marlin Roadster was there as well

The old "Bentley" is my bro-in-laws dad's. He built it completely from scratch. The green Pontiac parks just down the road from me as well, see it most days I walk the dog!

These pictures were taken by a mate of mine.

Now that I know it's the second Wednesday of the month, I'll make the next meet-up.

Couldn't make it this month due to two punctures. I can't turn up with a poxy spare steel wheel on, totally destroys the look of the thing.
