Croft in Sept........any news?
Discussion
The date is set for Sunday 18th September.
I hope to do the same format as last year, an exclusive PHers group with two 20 min sessions in the morning and two 20 min sessions in the afternoon. To achieve this I'll need around 15 cars.
Price is still to be negotiated and I hope to secure an exclusive instructor too.

This new restriction was effective from Jan 1st 2005. The only time you can use a regulated track in open pit lane mode is for one make or promotional events. It frustrates me too but I guess we have to live with it. Any track not doing this will be acting outside of motor sport regulations. The way I look at it is that Croft adheres to this rule then they are probably acting safely generally.
so does that mean no open pit lane in the afternoon then Bob?
OK, well rules are rules and where it's a safety matter thats got to be of the highest priority, shame though.
I will be bending your ear on wed's night Bob about the in's & outs of this trackday plan as it will be my first time, I have so many questions it would take ages to get though them all in one thread.
mark me down as a "Yes I will attend" and we can discuss further at Shafto's.

Please do. We will probably need you and yours to help make up the numbers anyway.
I might bring the Ginetta and the mini, possibility of my friend coming along too - I don't think numbers will be a problem!

surely can't be right? i've done bookatrack events this year open pit lane I'm pretty sure. in my experience sessioned tracks are usually less safe as everyone goes like a bat out of hell in their alloted 20 mins in case an accident ruins their session and they lose track time.
I never do sessioned track days as i like to share my car and it regularly spends 6 hours out on track ..
i guess the answer would be to use non ATDO track day organisers if this rule is indeed the case..
