Just trying to gauge if there's enough interest to have a drag racing day at York raceway on the 19th June.

Price will be £20/car and we'll have our own pit area and our own session to race. The fastest time on the day will also get a throphy and each car will get a computerised readout of reaction time, final time and terminal speed.

Should make for an interesting day out.

Can I have a show of hands.

I'll be in Egypt

Anyone want to take my car, it's faster than byff's Cerb even when the handbrake is accidentally left on.

I normally rag the arse off the car anyway, so a couple of runs down the strip wont make much difference. If anything breaks, it'll have been destined to break anyway, so better to find out while your playing with it and not when you are relying on it to get you to work.

I'll post this in Yorks forum aswell.

I'd certainly like to go, whether spectating or taking part. (I'll have a choice of little or big Wedge then) It's my favourite motor sport.
I'll be going to Santa Pod this coming weekend too.

Im hoping i can be there. If things go to plan that will be my first event i will be doing with my new engine. I had better get it together and put in then do my 500 miles. You might witness my jeep doing some naughty things from the start line !!

- So is anyone going ?

Weather looks like it should be ok.

I'd like to take the 390 down the strip. - Been watching others do it (dragracing, that is) for 35 years.

I can't go now

Diff bush has gone, so I can't risk doing any full power runs until that's repaired.

Wise move!

Don't leave it too long before you repair it like I did!
I've ended up with a slight oil leak on the diff now

I am going i have got my overheating problem sorted now it just splutters like hell at 4500 rpm and above ive got bigger jets in and it still does it im going to try to get it sorted tomorrow and i think that sunday will be a trial and error run just getting it set up and trying to stop it spluttering. The weather for sunday is suppose to be scorching. It normaly is good at york even when it is cloudy else where. So lets have your names of people who are likly to be going and hold your hands up high..

Dont get confused and think that there is a thunder storm cos my jeep is the same colour and sounds like one. You will know what i mean when you here it. I am going tonight and camping out so i can have several cans (shandy) and eat some burnt burgers and sasages. yum yum.

Well, was a good day out (very impressive Jago Jeep V8),
apart from getting drowned in the monsoon on the way home.

Yes it was a good day. the weather was as good as you could ask for. I wasnt at all happy with how the jeep ran i was expecting to get quicker but as it was my first time out with this set up there was a lot of tinkering to do. alter my jets in carb, set the timing up and now i need my msd ignition putting on as it was not reving past 6000rpm it was is if i had a limiter on. Im going to get things sorted for the next event which is 17th july. (any one for this date) there is plenty of notice. Steve murty even had a pit lane for TVR`s for racing and had a pit space for you all to park but when there was no tvr`s there till after lunch the cossies took your place. it was good to meet greame 48. hope to see some more at the next event. any intrest ????
