Anyone in the NE ordered a new Suzuki Jimny?

What’ts your experience been with deposit/order/delivery process?

I spoke with Hexham Suzuki back in September. They said they would contact me when orders opened but I didn't hear anything. In the end with the UK allocation being so low I don't think they really needed to chase customers. Since delivery wasn't until now-ish and I wanted something earlier I ended up with a Hilux, which I know suits me better than the Jimny, But I still like the idea of one, even if in reality they are not quite practical enough. That said, should they introduce a 5-door LWB then the OH's Shogun's days could be numbered... I won't hold my breath though.

Thanks for that LD

I contacted the dealer in Darlington and they had sold their first batch (3 or 4) and were waiting for them to be delivered. They had a committed order list but weren’t expecting another delivery until August 19 but couldn’t guarantee anything.

Some dealers are supposedly quoting delivery in 2020 due to length of order list and limited supply. Apparently, delivery to the UK is every 3 months and Suzuki UK allocate once they arrive.

You can’t buy a demo as the dealers are not allowed to sell them on for 12 months.

I managed to get on the list with a dealer in Lincoln and they have quoted March for delivery but I had to take whatever came i.e. model, options, colour.

It does look good in the blue. The dealer called me the other day to say mine will be silver, I was hoping for the kinetic yellow or black but silver will do.

I had a go in one a few weeks ago, they are pretty awful to drive tbh but I still like them. Tried to get some quotes for my 17 year old son to drive it but only Admiral have it on their system, the quote was very high considering the engine output. Springfield in Gateshead have delivered two, they aren’t expecting more untill April and have 9/10 people on their list.
