Welding/body shop recommendations North East
Discussion
Hi all,
The Mrs' Clio has sprouted a hole where the floorpan meets the sill - looks like it's gone through to the inner.
Nobody wants to look at it ("Mate not worth your money, more than the value of your car etc). The car is otherwise in fine fettle, but given the car is barely worth anything, most repairs, by that logic, aren't worth doing. However, my view is I'd rather pay £500 or so and get another year of motoring out of it, than take a finance deal for a eurobox. I appreciate I'm going to get a load of stick for this approach but there you go....
Anyway, my question is, any recommendations for garages/body shops in North East (ideally Teesside but happy to travel further afield) who would be willing to touch this, rather than giving me the usual "no point mate, car is crap"....if I'm willing to pay, I'm willing to pay after all.....
I'm happy enough removing the interior in advance to save time/money/faff...
Cheers chaps,
Nick

To be honest I hit this every time I need something doing on it, even if it's £100 job...
I'm not against going over the £500 mark (which the previous garage gave me as a guesstimate).
I want to keep the car because it's in otherwise good condition mechanically and is used mainly in London (I hail from the North East and get most work done up north) so want to run an older car. I also know where I am mechanically with it, what's been done and what needs doing.
My logic is thus - a eurobox on finance would be £150+ pcm minimum. If it's gets bashed (which in London it will) I owe the finance company at the end of the agreement, plus mileage limits etc etc. Equally if a used car is a lottery whereas I know exactly what needs doing on this motor. The cost is therefore irrelevant.
