Route is planned, point to point again

You'll need five £1 coins per car for parking during the day

Meet Scotch Corner Hotel carpark 10:00 so that I can distribute maps and instructions. Don't pay to park, just stay with your car.

Leave Scotch Corner 10:30

80 miles of 'B' roads and unclassified roads. The route to Butter Tubbs Pass is a little bumpy but it's the only way in and you'll be glad you did because this pass is awesome. Hawes for lunch, pubs, cafes and sandwich shops to choose from. Then across the top of the Dales and on to Brimham Rocks for an ice-cream.

If you're interested sign on here. It's a bank holiday weekend so I have to book space in one of the carparks.

Count me and my wife Rita in - let's hope for decent weather.

About time I got out on one of these runs.

Might have a look down if I'm free - it's only a couple of junctions south on the A1

But I have to ask, what/where the hell is Butter Tubbs?

It's a twisty undulating pass along the side of and over a hill near Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales. It was recently made famous by Jeremy Clarkson when he declared it his favourite stretch of driving road in the UK.

Change of meeting time now meeting at 10:00 at Scotch Corner to leave at 10:30. It's a Bank Holiday Sunday so we need to get to Hawes early.

jemima, surely?

I'm still debating, actually I may not even have the car back from the bodyshop (finally getting done next week), so I may just be a last minute show. Don't wait around for me.
