Seriously, what's the f**king point?!? All that disruption, all that cost for what? an extra lane that no one uses - aaaagggh!!

Travelled the length of it (North & South) for the last two days and I'm not exaggerating - there is no f**ker using that extra lane!! Further more travelling North this evening a car joins from the Coal House roundabout and immediately moves into the middle lane like he had joined from a slip road!!

Driving on a three lane carriage way is not a difficult concept - keep left unless overtaking - Jesus!! This needs to be introduced into the driving test, but that won't help all of the thick tw@ts already on the road - God help us all!!

RANT OVER!!!

I look forward to my first journey upon it since the end of the roadworks.

Noticed the exact same thing last weekend, no one using the new lane. I presume the issue is people aren't yet clear what is a slip road, and what is a full lane.

The roadworks aren't quite finished yet, there were closures last night on my way home from work around Lobley hill

Three lanes but limited to 50mph with speed cameras, so you can't overtake anyway. Like you say, what was the point? confused

Don't know what you're all moaning about.

Use the lane nobody else is using and make progress.

No speed cameras anymore, took them away shortly before completing the work.

Going north there is two nice hard stand areas that would be perfect for a camera van. It's as if they've designed it for them.

(Also some on the southbound carriageway)

That's exactly what they're for

So keep your eyes open and slow down if there's a camera van.

I too have noticed that lane 1 goes entirely unused. It's like having my own private road.

Is part of the problem a design flaw ? I remember a few weeks ago travelling along it and ended up in the middle lane, at the time I was pulling a caravan and remained in the middle lane due to me not knowing if there were any roadworks still in place, I do not remember moving into the middle lane so I presume that the inside lane as you come round the bend goes into the middle lane and not into the inside lane, if that is the case it could be why people are remaining in the middle lane as they presume that the inside lane is for going off.

I passed through in both directions today. Slow going each way, with nose to tail traffic.

I imagine lunch time will be fine, it's 50-60mph all the way through Southbound on a morning and Northbound on my usual commute.

Not had any problems since the roadworks were completed except for the odd plank that wants to do more than 50 mph and them chopping and changing lanes.

was thinking about Metro Centre traffic on a Saturday - wonder if it will be more busier, due to the rain.

May take A19 tyne tunnel, and come across west, north of the river instead

You must be one of those that weaves from lane to lane above the speed limit

If you do watch out for the 30mph limits on the A19 and coast road....yes 30mph...and the average speed cameras
