Metro Centre Meet/Cruise nights
Discussion
Hi all,
Is anyone attending the Metro Centre meets?
I believe they have started up again now the nice weather is here. 2nd Wednesday of every month.
Last year I made it over the border from Cumbria a couple of times and it was a good turn out.
Dates from the Metro Centre Meets Facebook page:
Start 6:30pm
11th May
8th June
13th July
10th August
14th September
12th October
I'll be heading over tomorrow evening for a look around.

Ive never been to one of the nights.
Are they well organised?
I did see one last year and wondered what was going on. I was tempted to wander over until "Captain Chav" went racing down the road towards Ikea and that put me off, would this have been a one off idiot?
Pretty much will have been a one off idiot. I've been to a few and there's virtually no idiots driving about. Are they well organised?

It's a big mix of stuff, lots of classic American, Japanese, Euro, even mental road legal drag cars and suchlike. There's a few chavvy cars there but I don't mind them, I like looking at anything with 4 wheels!
What turns up depends on the weather really.

Might try and make one, I'll probably end up in the Navara :-) the 911 is a pain to get out the garage.
Game over for Metrocentre meets
info straight from the police, cut & paste from guy who met with them yesterday.
"the retail park is deffo over they are going to be there on wed with marked and unmarked cars and CCTV the npr system is already on the retail park so everyone including customers as they can’t differ between the two will get letters saying if they are attending the car meet they are doing so illegally any burnouts fast driving antisocial behavior will be dealt with on the spot this week anyone returning again the next month then they will start enforcing i.e. if someone has as much as a bolt that is not declared to the insurance company bald tire etc they can kiss goodbye to their car also they are in the process with the council to get the retail park an ASBO which will mean no gatherings etc etc so that will also be an enforceable offence as far as the organized one in the coach park the metrocentre haven’t said a deffo no but should hear back soon on that one see what happens :-) this would be for American, hotrod, classic, muscle etc only though "
