Yank tank - Classic car steering box specialists NE
Discussion
Steering boxes, a new and baffling experience to me on my recently acquired 78 Firebird.
Does anyone, amateur or professional, know how to adjust and/or rebuild them locally? The car drives like a bucket of slop to the point I'm scared to use it. Theres a little play in a couple of steering joints but I'm sure 95% of it is due to the box which appears never to have been touched.
There are loads of US web pages devoted how to DIY but working in foot pounds and inches plus their parlance about jam nuts etc. has me scratching my head.
