No, but there was lots of interesting circles being carved into the gravel carpark thanks to one large red monster of a car. Stefan continued to entertain with stories of hamsters finding themselves in rather worrying places.

Everyone else will be working; I on the other hand sit here and get others to do my work so I'm always available to post.

We liked the detour on the way back, Bob!

Shame I did the same thing...

I reckon Neil must know a hell of a shortcut: I was caning the van and never saw him.

Nice to see everyone again.

Roll on days...

Funny how you can get lost going to & from the same place so many times!!!

and please note, we don't only get lost when I'm driving. Bob does a good job of getting lost too, as Dexy will vouch!

Obviously I didn't make it but I did get my leak sorted (I think). It was fairly late when I finsihed it and the usual chores at home started as soon as I walked in. No chance for an early tea.
The leak was coming from both the hose leading from the radiator (bloody great hole) and the small brass neck leading into that hose. It had been pushed in over on the underside and the coolant was obviously just working it's way around. We bent it back into a rough circulr shape without splitting it and on the ride home, it held.
I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Hope you all had a fun night.

Did you lot turn right out of the car park? That would have been my normal route, but thought I'd give left a go and followed Stefan.

I don't know which route he took, but it didn't involve going towards the A1(unless he knows a sneaky short cut that involves going a long way round), so left him to it.

I was surprised I didn't come across any one heading north again on the A1, but then again, I was going rather quickly and made it to Newcastle in about 20mins.

BTW, if you were sitting at the top end of the table, as I didn't get to speak to anyone all the way up there.

Same goes for me......got stood at the bar, ( not normally like me !!), and didn't have a chance to 'mingle'. Seems like the group is growing quite nicely now, and a good mix of cars to show in the car park.

( Must make more of an effort to mix next time, 6/10)

I turned Left out of the car-park and then right at the traffic lights - we headed back towards the A1 along the standard route (i.e. past B&Q) rather than through the centre of Spennymoor.

We followed Shogoth1 for most of the way up until it started to rain a bit heavy (Bernie and I were getting wet) so we went a little quicker to get back to Newcastle...

Unfortunately it appears that this may have been my first and last NE PHers meeting as I have since quit Northumbria uni and am now heading back to Norfolk until next Autumn when I will hopefully be starting a Vehicle Design course at Covenrty uni.

In the mean time a Vauxhall Carlton GSi engined kit car may be on the agenda, so who knows, when we next meet I may have some (moderately) respectable wheels of my own!

All the best,

Bernie
