audi independent garage North east
Discussion
As per title. Does anyone know of a decent VAT registered Audi specialist in the north east.
Just made a few calls today about getting my A4 serviced (1st service ). They want £348 which personally I think is a rip off. When asked what the service entails I was told oil, oil filter and pollen filter along with any additional top ups ( non to do as I check them all the time ).
I then asked them how long they will need the car, only to be told an hour or so. Now I'm no mathematician but I think that must work out close to £250 an hour labour.....!
Really..........daylight robbery if every I've heard it!
Any help, advice appreciated. Thanks Gary

Hi, I have used CS Motor Engineering for work to my A4 turbo recently. They are based in Longbenton not far from the Silverlink. Service was spot on and a LOT cheaper than the main dealer. I saved almost £1000 so would defo recommend. might be worth a shot for your service too. hope this helps

I know what you mean about prices, I got a quote from Teesside Audi for a 40k mile service on my 2013 A4 2.0 TDi Quattro & was told £500 ! I asked what it entailed & was told it was a 'big' service that included oil, filter, fuel filter & pollen filter, now I wouldn't class that as a 'big' service. I did ask on the forums & someone sent a link to an official Audi website that offered this service for £280 but when I asked Teesside Audi they said that was for cars over 3 years old & as mine was still under warranty there was more 'checks' to do, so basically over £ 200 extra to tick a few more boxes. I did get another quote from Audi York & they offered it at £408 but unfortunately I didn't have time to take it over there & needed it doing so I emailed Teesside Audi again & they agreed to match the price, they also collected my car from home & dropped it off afterwards but £408 for what is basically an oil change is a complete rip off !! I was going to take it to an indy but have read stories where Audi have covered certain problems out of warranty as long as you have full Audi service history so decided for now it was maybe worth getting it done at the dealers. I was also told that if you get a full itemised, written quote stating genuine Audi parts from an independent then Audi will match it.Just made a few calls today about getting my A4 serviced (1st service ). I'm fairly sure this is correct. Certainly worth a phone call to the dealers if you want an 'Audi' stamp in your book. Otherwise you won't go wrong with Swift. Also good recommendations for Swift is this thread as well:

That's another sore point because you don't get a 'book' to stamp anymore, they give you a piece of paper to tuck in the owners pack with details of service but this was also my receipt that I would normally keep with my credit card records & this is fine if it stays in the dealer network ( I wonder if that's why they've done it ! ) as they say any Audi dealer can check the records but I can see a lot of newer Audi's coming onto the 2nd hand market in a few years with no service history because of this.
