Sitting at a roundabout on the A189 a couple of hours ago, waiting to pull out in the 993, when a charva drives past in his charved up Fiat Punto wearing the obligatory charv cap. He looks admiringly at my car as he drives past (there's an ounce of taste in there somewhere), however whilst doing so fails to notice that the cars in front of him on his chosen exit of the roundabout, have in fact stopped.

He looks back to the road however it is all too late and he ploughs into the back of a nissan micra. Nobody hurt but appeared to be fairly significant damage to the cars. Like I say, unlucky!!

I think it comes under 'due care and attention'.

Could have been the back of YOUR car, and would he be insured ???

Over the last month I have had three people drive into my cars, twice into the Clio at opposing corners(how handy), lady who lives across the street admitted to reversing her X5 into the front corner, no idea who did the rear. Then, sometime around the New Year, someone has reversed into the rear of the Porker, and again failed to own up.

OK, the damage isn't been too severe to look at, but it all adds up. The front of the Clio will cost £450 (which of course the honest lady is coughing up for), but to sort the rear of the Clio and rear of the 993 (of which I am lumbered with) is still pretty hefty, eg. new unpainted bumper unit for the 993 is £600 plusVAT.

As you can imagine, I am feeling little sympathy for said charva at the moment, and at least the girl in the Micra knows who hit her.

I didn't mean the post to be callous, but it was just such a comedy moment when it happened..... maybe you had to be there....

With the icy roads this morning, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a few more oops moments.

I got the feeling last night that the missus wanted to take the Cerb to work this morning. I'm just off to hide the keys.

Yep them roads are interesting this cold morning. Had a couple of 'seat of the pants' moments on the way to work. I really should drive something else but I can't stop myself picking up the Chim keys.
