German cars - steer clear
Discussion
Just a quick story of my experience at .
Had my car in today to swap all 4 tyres. Spoke to a guy in Monday about booking it in - no problem he says, £60 for the job. I asked if it was a problem that the car had runflats on at the moment and I wished to change them to none fun flats. No problem he said.
Went back after 2 hours and they were still on with the car. Having a nightmare apparently, as the 'wheels were really big' and 'had runflats on'. 40 minutes later and they've finished.
I go to pay the bill, which I'm told is £120. What?! To fit four tyres!! I told the woman behind the desk that I was quoted £60. 'Well they were on 2 hours, 2 blokes and it has runflats on'. I replied that I had informed the guy on the phone about it and he had said it was no problem. Ended up paying £75 and left a bit peeved!
To top it off I'm 90% sure they have damaged at least 2 alloys slightly while changing the tyres.
So for this so called specialist garage, I would steer clear. Had heard mostly good things but a few similar stories from others, guess I'll stick to the dealers from now on :/ if anyone can recommend a competent garage in/around cramlington for future dealings I would be extremely grateful!

Bought four tyres online recently as the savings were amazing. Anyway I got Foxhunters to fit them for £60. Good guys who know what they're doing and most importantly don't damage the alloys.
Foxhunters has always been the best place around for me (and I have a friend who runs a rival NE tyre place!)Gassing Station | North East | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
